Serena Murphy
Director/Physiotherapist
Serena graduated from physiotherapy at the University of South Australia in 1998. She
has worked extensively in rehabilitation of musculoskeletal, orthopaedic, neurosurgical
and neurological conditions. She completed the Polestar Diploma of Professional
Pilates Instruction in 2014. She has also completed Level 1 GYROTONIC ® movement
method. GYROTONIC ® is a unique method of organizing the body to help stretch,
strengthen and mobilise joints and muscles. It also helps increase body awareness
through movement.
She has completed the GLA:D training for Osteoarthritis Management. This is an
evidence-based exercise and education program.
She uses weights including heavy weights of a Smith Machine, bench, leg extension
machine and leg press to help reduce the risk of sarcopenia (loss of muscle mass) and
osteoporosis. There is also Pilates Equipment such as a Reformer, Trapeze Table.
Multipurpose Chair, Ladder Barrel and Spine Corrector.
Serena can conduct a running Assessment and has completed the Runity Course and
Tom Goom’s Running Repairs.
She has completed shoulder courses such as Jo Gibson Shoulder Course, Jeremy Lewis
Shoulder Course.
Serena has completed Acupuncture Level 1 for Physiotherapists.
She promotes self-management strategies as well as supervised group exercise
classes.
Serena enjoys spending time with her family and friends. Keeping fit, ocean swimming
and running.

Vanessa Smith
Physiotherpist/Pilates Instructor
- A desire to learn more about the body and help others led Vanessa to study Physiotherapy.
- Since graduating from UniSA she has gained diverse experience in a variety of settings from hospitals to neurorehab to private practice.
- She further developed her skills working in the UK for 2 years, including at the Athens Olympics, and contuinues to expand her knowledge through further study, most recently in Cranio Sacral Therapy.
- Vanessa is passionate about Pilates for both its physical and mental benefits. She loves sharing how her Pilates knowledge together with her mindfulness and meditation training can work on the breath, brain and body connection to improve overall wellbeing.
- Away from work you'll find Vanessa enjoying time with her husband and two sons, probably at a park or the beach!
- Or finding a quiet moment to read and enjoy some Pilates and Yoga herself.
